Declaration of Who We Are

We don't need polls to tell us who we are.  We know where we stand, and we reaffirm the enduring principles that guide us.

We believe the promise of America is equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.

We believe the Democratic Party's fundamental mission is to expand opportunity, not government.

We believe that the United States must remain energetically engaged in the worldwide struggle for individual liberty, human rights, and prosperity, not retreat from the world.

We believe that the right way to rebuild America's economic security is to invest in the skills and ingenuity of our people.

We believe that the future begins with our children.

We believe in the movement of minorities into America's economic and cultural mainstream.

We believe that the Democratic Party is still the party of the people and for the people.

We believe in the need for social justice, the fight for human rights, and the need to serve our community.

We believe that innovation begins with the individual and should be supported and embraced.

We believe that our children should have a life free of oppression, separatism, and inclusion.

Finally, we believe that being an American entails the constant struggle against adversity and an individual responsibility to give something back to our communities.
